Recipe for Calm - Creamy Dill Salad Dressing
Combine in a blender:
- 2 avocados
- 1 1/4 cup water
- 2 TB fresh lemon juice (half of a small lemon)
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 slice of onion
- 3 TB dill
- 1 TB nutritional yeast (optional)
- 2 TB Bragg's Aminos (or nama shoyu)
- dash of cayenne pepper
- salt and black pepper to taste
Serve on romaine or red leaf lettuce with cherry tomatoes.
Traditionally used as a stomach soother and remedy for insomnia, dill is an herb that is said to have calming properties. It comes from the old Norse word "dilla" meaning "to lull".
